Getting Started

So I've decided that my life needs a goal, because up until now it has been unfulfillable to both myself and the world around me. I don't do much all day, I sit around watching television and reading books, and in turn I am slowly watching as my funds dwindle down to their last amounts in my back account. I hate me for who I am and I hate me for my unaccomplished dreams. That's why I started this blog, because I'm sick of feeling so alone and unaccomplished. I figured, I might as well write a blog that's about achievement and goals, things that seem impossible but are really just right within my reach. All I have to do is actually try for them and see what happens.

The challenge: To write 40,000 words a month in a single story and continue this each month until I have a full novel produced. And although I don't plan to post any of the story up on here, I might give it to friends to confirm that for sure I have completed this challenge every month. So at the bottom of each post I will put the total number of words I have accomplished so far in the month and you can watch as I strive to do a simple goal such as this. I mean, honestly it shouldn't be that hard considering I've got no job to hold me back. The rules are as such:
  1. There are no roll over words, all words written in the previous month stay in that month. So even if I accomplish more than 40,000 words in that month, at the beginning of the next month I'm back to 0 on the counter.
  2. Titles, Chapters, and any other headers still count towards the overall word goal since they do provide more space in the page. However, notes that I've written to remind me of things do not count.
  3. All words added to the count have to be from the single story, no other stories get to be added to the word count and no other writings (including this blog) count either.
  4. Friends may read the story, but only upon chapter finishes. They can then post comments at the end of some of these blogs to tell how many words were in the chapter as well as if I'm meeting the goal.
The point of this blog is not only to maybe create a product that people might want to read, something I can sell and make money off of to keep myself going, but also to finally complete something that I start. I'm sick of disappointing my friends with all the stories I start, all the ones that they want to keep reading but I shut them out as soon as I finish. I want to be able to show the world my hard work and all my thoughts as well, to show them my creativity in a way that hasn't been produced before. So here we go.

Words for the Month: 1,963 / 40,000
Total Words: 1,963
